ABILENE: Mabel Murphy Reynolds died on January 11, 2025 at age 107. She was born on October 21, 1917 to Joe T and Grace (Lout) Murphy in Alto, Cherokee County, Texas.


She graduated from Alto High School and Parkland School of Nursing in Dallas. She married Forrest Reagan Reynolds on July 14, 1941 and moved to Abilene in 1942 when her husband was drafted into the Army and sent to Camp Barkley for training. Mrs. Reynolds worked as an office nurse for Dr. C.A. McFadden for twenty-five years. She served as a volunteer for the Buffalo Gap Cemetery as president and treasurer for fifteen years. Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the Tuscola Methodist Church and served as the treasurer of the The United Methodist Women for twenty-three years.


Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.


She is survived by two nephews, and one niece.


Mable's close friends would like to thank the staff at Chisholm Court Nursing Assisted Living for the care she received.
