Mr. Butler, 79, of Philadelphia passed from this life Monday, December 29,2025 at his home.
Mac was born in Mobile, AL on November 13,1946. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and worked for over three decades and retired from US Electrical Motors.
His greatest joy was his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who deeply loved and admired him. He enjoyed teaching them about Jesus and the Bible, how to play checkers and chess and to sing and yodel old Hank Williams songs (his favorite). There wasn’t much he couldn’t do. He could fix anything that was broken and was an excellent machinist and woodworker. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan and “Roll Tide” were the first words out of his girls’ mouths!
Mac was preceded in death by his parents William & Edith Butler, his daughter Robin Butler Sodders, his brother CW Butler, and his sister Nora Jean Miller.
Mac is survived by his wife Nita Butler, his daughters Dori Peden (Mitch) and Maurie Gray (Louis), his grandchildren Dylan Peden (Katlyn), Erika Peden Stewart, Brooke Sodders Smith, Anna Sodders Eldridge (Luke), Tristan Willis, Charlie Willis (Kylie), Ali Gray, Rivers Gray, and Jamie Lee Gray. Mac also was blessed with great-grandchildren McKinley J Peden, Jack Stewart, Luke Stewart, Savannah Allen, Cheyenne Allen, Ayden Allen, Phoenix Allen, Alana Smith, Emersyn Willis, Posey Willis, Saylor Willis, and Cullen Willis.
Pallbearers are: Dylan Peden, Tristan Willis, Charlie Willis, Mitch Peden, Louis Gray, and Nick Stewart.
