Macario R. Abila, 93, of Barstow, Texas passed away on June 22, 2025, in Monahans, Texas.
Macario was born in Barstow, Texas to Pablo and Encarnacion Abila on February 29, 1932. He married Esperanza Abila on August 10, 1952, in Pecos, Texas.
He worked for J&C Well Services along with Painmaster Cotton Oil Mill. He volunteered for the Barstow Catholic Church.
Macario is preceded in death by his parents Pablo and Encarnacion Abila, brother Hipolito Pablo Abila, and grandson Michael Abila.
Macario is survived by his loving wife Esperanza Abila, children Aida Gabaldon (Lupe), Ismael Abila (Teena), Gracie Acosta (Hector), Elida Valenzuela (Rogelio), Jaime Abila (Diana), Abel (Gina) and brother Benny Avila, along with 21 Grandchildren, 32 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Pecos Funeral Home from 10:00am to 9:00pm. Rosary will be Wednesday June 25, 2025, at 7:00pm at Pecos Funeral Home. Mass will be Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas at 10:00am with burial to follow at Barstow Cemetery in Barstow, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Fermin Gabaldon, Jay Abila, Israel Acosta, Rogelio Valenzuela Jr., Bryan Abila, Andrew Abila, Lorenzo Acosta, and Albert Abila.
