Macario Lucio, born in Houston, Texas, on March 10, 1936, was an alumnus of Milby High School and the University of Houston, where he pursued studies in art and psychology. Two of his works, a painting and a drawing, were acquired for the permanent art collection of the University of Houston. Macario served in the U.S. Army, following the tradition of four of his elder brothers. He often displayed five American flags, symbolizing his family's collective military service. His professional career included positions at Family Social Services in Houston, The Immaculate Heart of Mary School, and The Briarwood School. In 1984, he married Roberta, and they subsequently relocated to rural Enderlin, North Dakota, where he resided until his death on June 21, 2025. A private memorial service is planned.
