Mack Arthur Richardson, 75, passed away on November 15, 2025, in Rex, Georgia. Although he spent his final months in Rex, Mack lived most of his life in Valdosta, Georgia-a place where he raised his family, built lifelong friendships, and left a legacy of kindness and dedication.

Born on February 20, 1950, in Nashville, North Carolina, Mack was the son of Mary Frances and Woodrow Richardson. He grew up in a large and loving family with fifteen brothers and sisters, often spending long days on the family farm-a childhood that shaped his deep sense of loyalty, compassion, and generosity.

Mack proudly served in the United States Air Force and later built a 30-year career as a welder and fabricator, known for his strong work ethic and skill. Yet the work he cherished most involved people-especially children. Mack had a passion for sports and spent many years coaching baseball, softball, basketball, and football. He coached not only his own children but countless neighborhood kids, treating every child as if they were his own.

Mack was a devoted father to his children-Melissa, Charlie, Van, Patrick, and Travis. He leaves behind four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as 10 brothers and sisters who will carry forward his warmth, humor, and gentleness. Above all else, Mack loved his family deeply. He found joy in simple moments: gathering with loved ones, completing jigsaw puzzles, tackling newspaper crosswords, and cheering for the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs.

He was known for his big heart and unwavering kindness. Mack would help anyone who needed him, often putting others before himself without hesitation. He spent many meaningful years working part-time in group homes for disabled adults, providing support, dignity, and compassion to the people he served. His selflessness truly made the world around him a better place.

A memorial service celebrating Mack's life will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. in Nashville, North Carolina, at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
