Stevens, Madeleine P.
99, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025.
Born on January 1, 1926, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Madeleine was the youngest of three children of Clarence Emory Price and Marcelle Gauvreau Price. She grew up alongside her beloved siblings, Webster Price and Claire (Chico) Rydberg, with whom she shared a deep and lifelong bond.
In 1952, Madeleine married the love of her life, Edward Ira Stevens Jr., at Pass-a-Grille Community Church. Their 67 years of marriage were a testament to enduring love, built on faith, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family. Together, they raised two daughters, Carol and Linda, who remained the heart of Madeleine's world.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Madeleine poured her love into every role she held. She was a Girl Scout troop leader, a faithful chauffeur to practices and games, and a joyful presence at every recital and softball match. Her humor, warmth, and gentle guidance enriched the lives of all who knew her.
In her later years, Madeleine found joy in simple pleasures-playing bridge and bingo with friends, experimenting in the kitchen, and volunteering at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. She and Edward especially treasured their days at their retirement home in Dunnellon, Florida, embracing the peaceful river life. Her generous spirit, sharp wit, and zest for life made her a cherished part of the community.
Madeleine is survived by her loving daughters, Carol Smith and Linda Weaver; her grandchildren, Amy Pike (Garrett), William Weaver (Jennie), and Rachael Vrabic (Nick); and many great-grandchildren and nephews who brought her endless pride and joy.
Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and devotion to family and community. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
