ABBEVILLE - A Memorial Service will be held at Vincent Funeral Home on Thursday June 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM to honor the life of Madeline “Dena” O’Neill, 44 who passed away on Saturday June 21, 2025 at her residence in Erath, LA. The family will receive friends on Thursday June 26, 2025 from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at Vincent Funeral Home of Abbeville, LA.
Pastor Ryan Johnson will officiate the service. Burial will take place at a later date.
Dena was born in Abbeville, LA on August 29, 1980.
Dena was an amazing mother, wife, sister, and friend. She lit up any room she entered. She had a contagious laugh and smile. She always proved she was stronger than any boulder that came to knock her down. Her time on this Earth was well-spent. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, painting, and making others laugh. She loved her husband and children more than words can describe. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Colby D. Abshire; daughters, Taylor and her husband Alec; Paige and her husband Daniel; and Katie and her boyfriend Ashton. Dena sisters, Chataignier and her husband Allen; Kayla and her husband Colby; and Candida; also surviving are many nieces and nephews, and her dogs, Buddie and Bruno.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene T. O’Neill and Dolores Marie Meaux. As well as her Nanny, Mary Giancola.
All funeral arrangements are being conducted by Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville (337) 893-4661.
