Madeline Carol Blasi Holmes, a resident of South Street in Bennington, became an angel Saturday October 18, 2025 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones. Madeline or known as Madie by many, worked and retired as a registered nurse after 40 years and was the best in her profession. Madie moved from New Jersey to Bennington Vermont, fell in love with the town and its history. While living in Bennington she worked in a day care for 2 years and then became a bus aid for 6 years. She was an avid reader and in her earlier years she was an equestrian rider, traveled with her husband and children to her favorite place Bermuda many times. In her later years she enjoyed the lake with family and friends. Now wife, mother and grandmother will reside in Heaven. Madie is survived by her loved ones and already missed and very much loved by her husband William T. Holmes, Jr., son William T. Holmes, III, daughter Courtney Holmes, her beautiful granddaughter Hayleigh Coyne, sisters Phoebe, Joan and Barbara and all of her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Leo and Jimmy. At the request of the family there are no formal funeral services at this time.
