Madeline ("Lynn") M. McCausland of Runnemede, NJ, age 80, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her children after a short battle with cancer. A beloved mother, nana, and friend, Lynn's beautiful spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed and her memory cherished forever.
Lynn was born in Philadelphia on December 12, 1944, only child of the late Daniel and Sarah McCausland. She attended Cecilian Academy in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia and later moved with her parents to Runnemede, NJ in 1958, where she has resided ever since. She was a graduate of Triton High School, where enjoyed acting and singing in theater productions. Lynn later started a family and was a devoted and loving mother. While raising her three children, Lynn was employed by Virtua Health for 28 years, starting her career as a Staffing Coordinator and advancing to become Manager of Health Care Resources.
Lynn's greatest joys were spending time with her children, grandchildren and many friends as well as her devotion to her deeply-rooted Catholic faith. She was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Child Parish, including St. Maria Goretti Church and St. Teresa Church in Runnemede. Lynn was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, attending Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament weekly as well as regularly preparing food for the poor. Lynn was proud of her Irish heritage and was a member of the South Jersey Irish Society and an advanced ceili dancer. She loved spending time in Cape May, NJ, where her parents had retired and where she enjoyed many happy times with them and her children.
Lynn is survived by her children Kimberly Luca (Robert), Robert Sochor (Danielle), and Tracey Van Dillen (Paul), and grandchildren Kevin and Daniel Luca, Robert, Brendan and Ava Sochor, and Sarah and Emily Van Dillen. She was preceded in death by her loving companion, Jeffrey Babb, and is also survived by her stepchildren Michael Babb (Xochitl) and Sharon Wanamaker (Kevin) and their families.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening November 4 from 6 to 8pm at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE and on Wednesday morning November 5 from 10 to 10:45am at Holy Child Parish, St. Teresa RC Church 13 E. Evesham Road Runnemede, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, November 5 at St. Teresa RC Church. Interment is private at the request of the family.
