McCausland, Joan M. (nee McMahon) of Marlton, NJ, passed away on March 21, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old. Joan is the beloved wife of the late Gerald F. McCausland, devoted mother of Gerald, Michael (Karen), Kevin (Greg), Mark, and Mary Kate (Dan), and adoring grandmother of Ryan and Kelsi. She was the dear sister of Kathleen (Tom) Hodgins and the late Patricia (Tom) Pritz, Bill McMahon and Michael (Betty) McMahon. Daughter of the late William & Bertha (Flynn) McMahon. Joan will also be missed by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Kensington, raised in East Germantown, she attended Immaculate Conception Church and Grammar School. She was a 1954 graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School where she established lifelong friendships with fellow orchestra members Marie Perrone (Bradley) and Anna Marie McKenna. Joan was immensely proud of her first job as secretary to the Superintendent of Schools in Philadelphia. She went on to work for the Evesham Township School District for 25 years, the majority of which as the secretary of the main office at Marlton Middle School where she touched many lives. She enjoyed reading, bingo, playing bridge and bowling. A summer never went by without a trip to Cape May, the Jersey Shore and the casinos. She was a fierce advocate for public education and a champion of the underdog. She was a warm and generous friend to many. Most of all she was a wonderful mother and loved her grandchildren dearly. She shared a lifelong love story with her husband and now they are reunited.
