Madeline B. Puma (O'Mahoney), age 82, passed away on July 27, 2025, at her home in the Oak Valley section of Deptford, where she had lived since 1976. Madeline was born and raised in West Philadelphia and graduated from West Catholic Girls' High School in 1959.
She worked as a cashier for Zallie's ShopRite for many years. Madeline was an active member of Infant Jesus Parish (St. Margaret's Church), where she and her husband volunteered for Marriage Encounter. She also enjoyed traveling with the Leisure Club and especially loved traveling with her husband.
Madeline was a 2-time cancer survivor. A beloved Wife, Mother, Aunt, Sister, Grandmother and Friend. She was a warm and loving person who greeted everyone with a smile. Madeline is survived by her husband of 56 years, Michael L. Puma; her children, Michael Patrick Puma, Matthew William Puma, Samantha Bridget Puma, and Nicholas David Puma; her granddaughter, Rachel Elyse Puma; her sister, Mary Jo McBride (the late Joseph McBride); and her sister-in-law, Margaret O'Mahoney. She was preceded in death by her parents, Madeline (O'Malley) and William O'Mahoney, and her brother, William O'Mahoney.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM, followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM at Infant Jesus Parish (St. Margaret Church), 845 Third Street, Woodbury Heights, NJ. Interment Wenonah Cemetery. Those desiring may make a contribution in memory of Madeline to Infant Jesus Parish, 334 Beech Avenuet, Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097.
