Our beautiful mom, Madelyn Ann Bambace (Maddie), passed away on 01. May 2025.
She was born on 20. September 1935 in Peckville, PA. to John F. Welch and Marion Alcock. Mom was a proud hearted Pennsylvanian who respected and adored her Irish/German roots.
Mom graduated from Scranton State Hospital Central Nursing Training, and was a fiercely proud Registered Nurse who loved and cared greatly for each and everyone of her patients in a career which spanned over 50 years.
Maddie was truly loved and adored by her two daughters, Ann Marie( Bambace) Stinchcomb and Janet M. Bambace; her granddaughter Kailen Marie Stinchcomb, and her great grandson, William Adams (our little leprechaun).
Her granddog, Sadie, filled her days with companionship walking, sitting outside, watching TV together while showering each other with hugs and kisses. Her days were also spent tending to and admiring her garden, reading historical novels, dining and ordering out from her favorite restaurants (especially Abatino's #1), home cooked meals with family and attending church services at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. World travel with her family and friends was also on the top of her list.
She resided at The Sulgrave in White Plains where she loved living, and was considered by friends and neighbors to be "The Mayor". She had an innate gift of trustful listening and her door was always open to those who sought advice or simply wanted to enjoy a good chat and laugh.
Maddie's bright, optimistic and indomitable spirit and soul will live forever in our hearts!
Rest in God's arms mom, watch over us always ~ Until we meet again.....
In Lieu of flowers a donation to St.Jude's Children's Hospital on behalf of mom would be appreciated at https://www.stjude.org/
