Madge Deleene Black, 73, of Coal Grove, Ohio passed away Thursday (June 19, 2008) at Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The River, Kentucky native was born July 31, 1934, the daughter of the late Hurschell and Madge Gambill Spears. She attended Dawson Bryant High School and a member of Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church in Coal Grove. She was a homemaker and a former store clerk at Stone and Thomas Department Store in Huntington, West Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: 1st husband: Albert W. Bruce, who died July 19, 1962 2nd husband: Stephen G. Black, who died June 6, 1970 Sister: Iranell Adams She is survived by: son and daughter-in-law: Daniel William and Dana Bruce of Richmond, VA son: Dean Allen Bruce of Richmond, VA daughter and son-in-law: Deatra Mae Bruce and Ronald Chambers of Jacksonville, FL son: Timothy Paul Black of Coal Grove 2 step children: Sharon Kay Jones of Canada and Stephen Gates Black, Jr. of South Shore, KY 8 grandchildren 1 great-grandchild brother: John Everett Spears of Columbus, Ohio sister: Janet McCarty of Coal Grove, Ohio Funeral services will be 10 AM Monday, June 23, 2008 at Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church 412 Washington Street Coal Grove, Ohio with Rev. Roger Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Saturday, June 21, 2008 from 6 till 9 PM at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio .
