Maggie Taylor, 80, of Plain City, Ohio, passed away on November 15, 2025. She was born on September 5, 1945 to Roy and Eva (Gillem) Francis in Salyersville, Kentucky.
Maggie is preceded in death: by her late husband Walter Franklin Taylor; her son Kevin Taylor; Mother Eva Gillem; Father Roy Francis; two brothers, Thomas (Martha) Francis and David (Janet) Francis; and three sisters: Gracie Smith, Marylene May, and Kathy Ward.
She is survived by: her sons Keith (Janet) Taylor of Columbus, Walter (Glenna) Taylor, Jr. of West Jeff, and her only daughter Paula (James) Gingerich of Columbus; her three sisters: Patty (Ted) Long of Washington Court House, Naomi Mootispaw of Buena Vista, and baby sister Willow Jean Groves of Hillsboro; Grandkids: Barbie (Doug) Allen of Unionville Center, Kevin Michael Taylor of Plain City, Brandon (Janet) Taylor Columbus, Danielle Taylor of Cincinnati, Brittni (Kevin) Howell of Columbus, Dustin Taylor of Columbus, Marilyn (Dustin) Messer of Columbus, Brooke (Nathan) Mauersburg of Westerville, and Kyle Gingerich of Columbus. She had numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren whom she loved and adored with all her heart.
Maggie worked for Ranco in Plain City for 30+ years before retiring and moving on to work as a custodian at Dublin City Schools. Maggie loved her Bluegrass music (She would've left her husband for George Jones given the chance); sewing, crocheting, and was an avid animal lover going above and beyond for her cats and dogs. She loved traveling with her late husband and going to the Rocky Mountains and camping in southern Ohio with family, as she was born in Kentucky. Maggie was very strong willed and lead life devoted to God. She would tell you exactly how it was, not what you wanted to hear but, you knew with her you were loved and protected if you had the pleasure of knowing her.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 6PM-8PM at Ferguson Funeral Home 202 East Main Street Plain City, Ohio 43064. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 11 AM, also at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Jerome Township Cemetery in Plain City, Ohio.
