Our beloved Lyn Williams passed away on Thursday November 7th after a brief, but intense illness. She was born May 9, 1940 to Karel and Elsie (Matthews) Klos in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She married Will Dean, of Kingfisher Oklahoma in 1959 and had 2 children: Bill and Jody. Together, they owned several businesses before Lyn began working at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, Texas in 1975. At Methodist Hospital, she became a computer programmer and was instrumental in the implementation process of updating the computer systems around the millennium.

She was extremely active in her Christian faith as she attended First Christian Church for almost 50 years, serving in leadership roles too many to count. While serving in one of her many church leadership positions, she met the Rev. Ernie Williams in the early 1990’s and they married in 1995. Together, they served multiple churches in West Texas and were able to travel extensively to Europe as well as Israel/Palestine. The consummate social butterfly, Lyn was active in the Lubbock Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and did extensive work with the West Texas Parkinsons Society. In the last few years of her life, Lyn began making quilts which quickly became a passion and gift which she enjoyed sharing with others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Karel and Elsie, both husbands, her son, Bill, and many other family members and friends. The loss of her earthly presence is felt most by her brother, Ken (and Sue) Klos of Tallahassee, Florida, niece, Kittessa (and John) Kennedy, nephew Keenan (and LaMae) Klos of Tallahassee, Florida, her aunt Vera Manager, of Huntsville, Texas, her daughter, Jody Dean of New Orleans, Louisiana, second sons Jeff (and Robin) Williams of Nacogdoches, Texas, and David (and Lisa) Williams of Seattle Washington, grandkids, BJ Tapley of New Orleans, Erin (and David) Luper of Fort Worth, Kyle Williams of Seattle, Emily (and Daniel) Gozick of Las Vegas, and Kane (and Heather) Williams of Seattle. She has six great grandchildren and one great-great grandson as well as many cousins and other family members, and countless beloved friends from her many circles.
