Dorthy "Kitty" Killian, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, in Lubbock at the age of 77. She was born on May 3, 1948 in Lubbock to Weldon Davis and Dorothy Azalee (Banks) Killian. As a mother, Kitty was blessed to stay home with her daughter Cheryl until she was fifteen. She delighted in being an aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews, a role she cherished deeply before embracing the joy of becoming a beloved Nana. As a Nana, her support and love were unwavering. Kitty carried with her a sweet spirit that endeared her to all who crossed her path and a heartfelt connection, creating lasting bonds and touching lives with her gentle nature. She had a tender heart for cats and fond memories of growing up on the family farm with a cherished pet pig.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cheryl Gilmore and husband Mark of Lubbock; grandchildren, Samantha and partner Mira of Albuquerque and Jacob of South Korea; sister, Doris Jean Pullen of Lubbock; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family who were blessed to share in her warmth and kindness. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, WD Killian, Jr.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 am on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with services beginning at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Those who knew Kitty will recall not only her sweet spirit but also her vibrant and colorful personality. The family requests that those attending wear casual, colorful attire—a reflection of Kitty’s joyful approach to life.
