Nancy Taulbee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Agape Funeral Chapel & Crematory - Lubbock on Mar. 16, 2026.
With heavy hearts and deep love, our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend, Nancy Sue Taulbee, who left this world Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the age of 74.

Born on October 26, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of Betty Drummond and Dale Leonard. From the very beginning, she carried a gentle strength and a giving heart that would define the way she lived her entire life.

On February 11, 1972, she married the love of her life, Donald Darrell Taulbee. Together they shared 54 years of marriage, building a life filled with devotion and unwavering partnership. Their love was a steady example to those around them.

Nancy was a selfless person, always putting the needs of others before her own. Whether it was supporting her daughters and grandchildren or caring for children through her work in childcare, she gave from the heart without hesitation. One of the many ways she showed this love was through the opportunities she created for her children, always encouraging learning and growth.

She was incredibly resourceful, able to make something wonderful out of seemingly nothing. Although quiet by nature, those who truly knew her know she had a quick wit and a gentle humor. She was also a voracious reader, happiest with a good book in her hands.

Nancy had many simple joys that made life sweeter. She was a wonderful baker, filling our home with the smell of homemade treats. She loved crafting and crocheting, creating beautiful things with patience and care. She adored animals, butterflies, and the color blue, and she never passed up a 3 Musketeers bar or a Polish dog from Wienerschnitzel.

More than anything, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was the center of her world.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Donald Taulbee; her daughters Carol Ipock and and Christie Long; her grandchildren Vanessa Lancaster, Brittany Lancaster, and Taylor Long; and her siblings: Vicky Jury, Teresa Hilt, and Dale Leonard.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the countless memories she gave us - the quiet acts of kindness and the love that shaped our lives. We will forever carry her with us in the recipes we bake, the books we read, the crafts we make, and in every butterfly that crosses our path.

She was deeply loved, and she will be even more deeply missed.
