James C. Bell, 64, passed away Friday March 6, 2026, in his home in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on April 14, 1961, in Lubbock.

James loved his God and country. He joined the Marines at the young age of 16 (doctored his birth certificate). Thirteen years later, he enlisted in the Army where he served in South Korea, and then, rotated back to Texas to complete his enlistment.

James met and married his wife, Dana, in 2004. God blessed them with a marriage that He guided.

James heard God's call and in 2022, began volunteering with Freedom in Jesus Prison Ministries. He also taught multiple faith-based classes and a Veteran Dorm Class at the Mechler Prison.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James H. Bell and Mary M. McLean, and stepfather William W, McLean.

He is survived by his wife, Dana; stepchildren Candy and Robert Brown (Erin)Erin, and beloved grandchildren: Jason, Jonavin, and Andi Brown. And, his fur-baby Ruth.

James is also survived by his sister, Terri Bramlett (Dennis), and brothers: Chris Wimberly (Diane), and Brent Arron (Denise) as well as his Uncle Jerry and Aunt Kay McDonald, Aunt Barbara Whitney, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service and graduation to Heaven celebration scheduled for Friday, 20 March 2026, at 10:00am, at The Message Church, 5502 Auburn Street, Lubbock, Texas 79416, with the viewing at 9:30 am.
