Madonna Marie McCarville Kratz Reisner, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17 at MercyOne Medical Center in Waterloo at the age of 100. Born on July 19, 1925, in Cresco, Iowa, to Michael and Frances (Turek) McCarville, Madonna lived a life full of kindness, strength, laughter, and faith. She attended Assumption Catholic School through second grade before moving with her family to Lime Springs, where she completed her schooling through 10th grade. Then she worked as a custodian at NICC before retiring in 1993. Madonna became a member of the Halverson-Geisen Post 266 where she served as Sergeant-At-Arms for many years. She spent many years volunteering at the Winneshiek County Hospital, Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid, Calmar Greater Area Food Pantry, and Calmar Senior Center. Madonna showed her love through her cooking and baking. She was known for her kolaches, cheese balls at Christmas time, and the thousands of mints she made for every family occasion.
