Mrs. Mae M. Borger
Mrs. Mae M. Borger, 94, of Kunkletown, passed away on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, in her home. She was the widow of Calvin L. Borger.
Born in Little Gap, she was a daugh-ter of the late Earl and Miriam (Hawk) Lobach.
A 1945 graduate of Polk Township High School, she worked at Scotty's Fashions, Little Gap, for 35 years before retiring in 1989.
She was an active member of St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, Kunkletown, along with the Laymen's Fellowship at the church.
She was also a member of the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co. and the Fire Co. Auxiliary, of which she was president for many years, the Eldred Township Historical Society and the Polk Township Alumni Association.
Mae enjoyed needlepoint, sewing and playing cards. She loved to bake and to take pictures. In fact, she took so many pictures, people affectionately referred to her as Mancus. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are three daughters, Romaine Miller, Marlette, wife of Tony Palermo, and Dora, wife of Brian Tartar, all of Kunkletown; five grandchildren, Ricky Miller, Timmy Miller, Terri Ann Dorshimer, Jamie Miller and Anthony Palermo II; six great-grandchildren, Amanda Miller Serfass, Daria Kleintop, Jamie Lee Miller, Karrie Palermo, Kaila Palermo and Jeremy Smith; and eight great-great-grandchildren, Wyatt Kleintop, Cole Kleintop, Arianna Palermo, Stanley Williams, Brandon Williams, Cameron Williams, Laila Sharp and Jeremy Smith.
She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Michelle Gussett and Leslie Miller.
Service: A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date. Interment, St. Matthew's Cemetery, Kunkletown. Arrangements by Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Rt. 209, Brodheadsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, 102 Church Rd., Kunkletown, PA 18058, or to the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Co., P.O. Box 357, Kunkletown, PA 18058.
