HOPKINTON, IOWA
Mae Marie Heeren, 100, of Hopkinton, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Hopkinton Community Church. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. with a gathering to follow at church. Christian burial will be held at a later date.
Mae was born on October 5, 1925, in Sand Springs, Iowa, daughter of Charlie and Orpha (Radcliff) Martin. She grew up in Hopkinton. She married Elmer Heeren in 1943.
Survivors include her children: Michele Legate of Marion, Dana “George” (Cathy) Heeren of Cedar Rapids, Rick Heeren of Springville, Alecia Lewis of Sand Springs, David “Duffy” (Krissy) Heeren of Bloomfield; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; and children: Pam Lewis, Juanita Manternach, Gerald Heeren and James Heeren.
