Susan D. Wright, 75, of Scotch Grove, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, at the same home she was born and raised on.
A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Susan was born March 24, 1950, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Antons) Rickels.
She built a family of love and memories at the home farm. She cherished the time with her grandson, Ethan. Her love for animals poured through her care for several animals at the farm, especially her cougar, Shakota. She also loved all of her horses.
Susie is survived by her daughter: Shawndee (Robert) Boots of Scotch Grove; grandson, Ethan Boots, brother: Eugene (Kenna) Rickels of Hopkinton; in-laws, Daisy Rickels and Dixie Rickels; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Marlene Rickels in infancy, Marvin Rickels, Larry (Paula) Rickels, Shirley Lietz, Irvin Rickels.
In lieu of flowers, there has been a memorial fund established at Ohnward Bank & Trust in Monticello, Iowa.
