Mae Davis Jones, 85, passed away on November 26, 2023, in Roanoke, VA. Mae was born in Greenville, NC, and was a long-time resident of Clarksville and Virginia Beach, VA. She was a Circle of Excellence recipient for many years of her career as a Realtor. Her extensive knowledge coupled with her authentic kindness and guidance made her a cherished figure in the real estate community. She was a devoted and selfless wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Mae was the daughter of the late Horance Gibbs and Marjorie Ann Davis. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Lawrence Jones; daughter, Suzy Jones; son, Bruce Jones and daughter-in-law, Rita Jones Mitchell. Survivors include her grandson, Bruce Lawrence Jones (Rachel) of Virginia Beach, VA; granddaughter, Marjorie Ann Jones of Roanoke, VA; two great granddaughters, Eliza Mae Jones and Evangeline Marie Jones and nephews, Steve (Dawn), Greg and Jason Jones.
Mae exuded a genuine warmth and unconditional love for others throughout her lifetime which led to the development of her large "bonus" family: daughters, Karen Walker (Sammy) and Frances Petty and grandchildren, Harrison and Jordan Walker, Kelly Thompson, Tahriana Kasey, Kesha Petty and Jerry Boswell.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Friendship Retirement Community for serving as Mae's extended family and for offering dedicated care and affection.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral chapel with burial at Ephesus United Methodist Church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donations to the American Lung Association.
