Mae Frances Tarleton, age 88, a 10-year resident of Woburn, passed away on February 23, 2026 after a brief illness. Born and raised in New Jersey, she was the daughter of Albert E. and Alice C. Tarleton and a graduate of Ridgewood High School and Caldwell College. Mae raised her children primarily in Houston, Texas where she worked as a secretary at General Electric and M.D. Anderson Hospital. In 1988 she moved back to New Jersey and spent many happy years as a staff member of The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and a choir member at St. Luke’s Church in Waldwick. She was the loving mother of four daughters, including Eileen Marks of Winchester, MA, Jackie Reinauer and Sharon Shipman of Angleton, Texas, and predeceased by her daughter Linda Reinauer, also of Angleton. She leaves four grandchildren: Henry Marks, Philip Marks, Allison Shipman and Rebecca Shipman. Originally one of six children, Mae is also survived by her brother Albert Tarleton, Jr., sister-in-law Sheila Tarleton, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Staff Appreciation Fund at New Horizons at Choate, 21 Warren Ave., Woburn, MA 01801.
