Mae Jean Vaughn Watson, 71, wife of John Robert Watson, of Walhalla, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Oconee Memorial Hospital. Born in Commerce, GA, Mrs. Watson was the daughter of the late Butler Dock and Lula Mae Long Vaughn. She retired from AnMed Health, where she worked as a Registered Nurse. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Watson is survived by her brothers: Wayne Vaughn (Sandy) and Harris Vaughn (Sylvia); sister -in-law: Elizabeth Markley; niece: Carol Jefferson (Johnny) ; and nephews: Danny Stephens (Theresa), Greg Stephens; and several other beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her brothers: James Vaughn and Jackie Vaughn; and nephew: Randy Vaughn. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at MJ Dolly Cooper Veteran's Cemetery in Anderson, SC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted. The family is at their respective homes.
