Maelean Hanvey Burdette

Maelean Hanvey Burdette, born on January 14, 1944, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, at the age of 81. A devoted homemaker, Maelean was a woman of faith who truly walked the walk, embodying the virtues she cherished throughout her life.
Maelean found joy in the simple pleasures of life, with a particular fondness for gardening and flowers, which she cultivated with care and creativity. Her garden was a testament to her love of nature and beauty, reflecting her fun-loving spirit and zest for life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Burdette, as well as her parents, Arlin and Mary Hanvey; her brothers, Raybon Hanvey and Gerald Hanvey, and her sister, Trena Thompson.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Burdette, and his wife Charlotte; her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Bailey and Angela Northington; and a legacy that continues through her five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Reverend Tommy Freeman will officiate the service, honoring Maelean's memory and her faithful journey. Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
Maelean will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
