Magdaline Cooper, a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her, passed away on June 11, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on February 24, 1935, she lived a life that exemplified love, kindness, and unwavering compassion. She possessed a spirit that could instantly warm the hearts of those around her and was known for her sweet disposition and genuine care for others. Magdaline approached life with open arms, never meeting a stranger; to her, everyone was a friend waiting to be made.
Her passion for nurturing extended beyond her warm-hearted nature to her beloved garden, where she took great joy in tending to her plants and flowers. This love for the earth mirrored the love she spread throughout her family and community, as she always found time to help and support those in need.
Magdaline leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, cherished by her loving husband of 56 years, Clarence Cooper, her son Gary (Crystal) Cooper, and her adored grandchildren: Taryn (Nick) Skelly, Maddy Cooper, Xander Cooper, and Garrett Cooper. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Myles and Waylen, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.
In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her siblings: Haggard Taylor, Boyd (Wanda) Taylor, Bob (Emily) Taylor, Don (Geraldine) Taylor, Denzel (Tammy) Taylor, and Margaret Gulley, along with her sister-in-law, Phylis Taylor, Helen Taylor, and Eve Taylor as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will forever remember her kindness and generosity.
Magdaline's heart aches for her dearly departed granddaughter, Brittany, who she loved deeply. She also mourns the loss of her sisters Frankie (Vader) Davis, Florence (Gene) Bruce, Maxine Taylor, and Dora Taylor, and her brothers Ulas (Georgie) Taylor, Willis Taylor, Ernie Taylor, and Blue Taylor, as well as siblings-in-law Sandra Taylor and Charles Gulley.
