Maggie Lee Anderson McMeen, 97, resident of the Hampshire community, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024 at NHC Columbia. 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Macer officiating. Burial will follow in Sheboss Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born April 4, 1926 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Cooper Anderson and the late Martha Slate Anderson. Mrs. McMeen was a 1944 graduate of Hampshire High School. She enjoyed working in her garden and loved listening to bluegrass and country music. Mrs. McMeen was a member of South Point Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Sue Kincade of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Robin Jones of Duck River, Suzanne Jones of Mt. Pleasant, Karen Jones of Mt. Pleasant, Wayne (Kim) Kincade of Culleoka; great grandchildren, Natalie Jones of Mt. Pleasant, Josh Kincade of Culleoka; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Kincade in 1945; her late husband, William C. McMeen, in 1988; son and daughter-in-law, David Ray and Doris Kincade; siblings, Luther Anderson,   Mary Allie Blocker, Lester Ray Anderson, Betty Jane Spears, and Virginia May Skirvin.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to express a special thanks to Joe Macer, Gail and Frank Cathey, the staff of NHC Columbia, and the staff of Caris healthcare, especially Ashley, Casey, and Barbara for their love and care. The family always want to thank Julie Cooper for keeping her looking beautiful for the last twenty plus years.
