Lucy Mae Holt Spears, 78, resident of Maury County, died Thursday, May 1, 2025 at NHC of Columbia.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Steven Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Bridges Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Born August 24, 1946 in Maury County, TN, she was the daughter of the late John Fleming Holt and the late Pauline Woodson Holt. Lucy was a 1964 graduate of Hampshire High School. On May 23, 1980 she married Albert Jerome “Rabbit” Spears, who preceded her in death on February 25, 1998. Mrs. Spears enjoyed crocheting and riding on country roads, taking scenic pictures of old barns and bridges. She loved butterflies, birds, and roosters. In her early years, Lucy enjoyed dancing and going two stepping in Bon Aqua, TN. Lucy was a very loving soul, and her grandchildren were her world. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son, Darren (Becky) Bobo; daughter, Ramona Westmoreland; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Westmoreland and Kaleb Westmoreland; brothers, Charles Holt and Gary (Ramona) Holt; nephews, John (Denise) Holt, Brian Holt (Jessica Elliott), Steven (Kaycee) Holt; niece, Gayle (Ron) Blocker; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great-nephew.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Pattie Holt and Fleeta Holt.
Pallbearers will be Kaleb Westmoreland, Charles Holt, Gary Holt, Brian Holt, Steven Holt, John Holt, and Ron Blocker.
