Maggie Sue Clements Warnock, a cherished matriarch, and beacon of love and resilience, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia. Born on September 29, 1936, in Milan, Georgia, Maggie Sue's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, a testament to her strength, and a reflection of the joy she found in simple pleasures.
A graveside service will be held at Clements Cemetery on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 3:30 P.M. with Rev. Sam Holland officiating. The family will receive friends at Lowes Funeral Home on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM before proceeding to the cemetery.
Maggie Sue's journey began as the daughter of Harry Stanley and Alma Butler Stanley. She grew up alongside her brothers, Odia and Harry Jr., in the nurturing small-town environment of Milan. Her life was enriched by the love and companionship of her two husbands, Elmer Clements and Curtis Warnock, both of whom preceded her in death, as did her parents and brother Harry Stanley, Jr.
Maggie Sue's legacy is lovingly carried on by her daughters, Sheala Golden (Larry) of McRae and Peggy Matecun (Don) of Dublin. She was a guiding star to her grandchildren, Brandon Pickle (Alicia) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Erin Beasley (Gary) of McRae. Her great-grandchildren, Joshua and Maggie Pickle of Nashville, Tennessee, Shelby Carey (Cain) of Dublin, and Brayden and Brody Beasley of McRae, will forever cherish the memories of their great-grandmother's warmth and wisdom. The newest generation, her great-great-grandchild Addalynn Carey of Dublin, was a source of immense joy for Maggie Sue in her final years. She is also survived by her brother Odia Stanley (Cora) of Milan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Maggie Sue embraced the role of a homemaker with grace and dedication. She created a home that was a haven of comfort and love, a place where family and friends were always welcome. Her hands were rarely still, as she found delight in working in her flower garden. Maggie Sue's artistic talents shone through in her crocheting, painting, and the intricate designs she crafted, leaving behind a tangible legacy of her creativity. She loved to read and could often be found with a book in her hand, lost in the pages of a captivating novel. Her adventurous spirit was evident in her love for the outdoors, where she enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, reveling in the serenity and challenge they provided.
She was a member of Mt. Galilee Baptist Church where she faithfully served as pianist for twenty-five years.
Maggie Sue Warnock lived a life marked by love, resilience, and the joy of simple pleasures. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the enduring impact she has made on the lives of those she loved.
