Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thayer-Rock Funeral Home - Farmington on Nov. 21, 2025.
Mahlon Patrick "Pat" Bradley, 93 of Farmington Hills, Michigan, went to be with his Lord and Savior (Jesus Christ) on November 20, 2025. He passed away peacefully at home with his family around him. He was born to the late Mahlon Smith and Agnes Maybelle (Caughlin) Bradley, May 16, 1932, in Redford, MI. Pat attended Farmington High School (Class of 1950) and Ferris State (Class of 1953). He received a degree in printing. He married Doyal "Dotty" G. Boggs, whom he met on a blind date, on June 27, 1959. Together they raised three awesome children, Brent, Kirk, and Regina in Farmington and Farmington Hills areas. They shared 63 years of marriage before Dotty preceded him in death (2022).
Pat worked at the Farmington Enterprise and later was part owner of News Printing, Inc. in Northville, MI. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean conflict. Pat was very active in Boy Scouts as a commissioner and leader for over 50 years. He loved motorcycles. He participated in motorcrosses, enduros, and ice racing, where he won third place in Michigan's premier state race. He rode a Honda for many years; single as well as with a sidecar. His favorite motorcycle was a 1953 Vincent with sidecar, which he fully restored to its original condition. He enjoyed taking it to shows, Battle of the Brits, and won many awards. Pat was part of a few clubs including "The Knights of the Road" and Vincent Owners Club. He also wrote articles for The Journal Of the Vincent H.R.D Owners Club.
Each summer Pat took his family along with a pop-up camper and camped all over the United States. Some of the family's favorite trips were out west to Yellowstone Park, Crater Lake, the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Pikes Peak, and down south to Daytona Beach, and the Florida Keys, just to name a few.
In September of 1984, Pat realized in a Sunday Evening Service at First Baptist Church of
Farmington, MI, that he could not get to heaven by doing good deeds, being a good person, or belonging to a church. He decided that a person can only get to Heaven by the finished work of Jesus Christ. He went forward in that service and trusted in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Romans 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." He called on Jesus to save him from his sins and today is in Heaven, his home. He has gone on several mission trips to Puerto Rico to spread the good news of Jesus.
Pat received the title of "Grandpa" with the birth of his nine grandchildren: Daniel, Peter, Sarah, Mahlon, Hannah, Nathan, Joel, Naomi, and Lydia. He loved to play games with them. One of his favorite games was Solar Quest. This is a game like Monopoly but with planets and moons for properties. The last time he played the game, he conquered the universe and destroyed all his opponents in laser battles and was the ultimate grand champion. The grandkids will have fond memories of playing games with grandpa. He felt blessed by the Lord for each one. He received the title of Great Grandpa with the birth of Haivyn (8), Greyson (7), Hudson (5), and Harper (3). He loved them all and was very proud of them. He prayed for them every day in his prayer closet.
Pat was a committed member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Livonia. He was an usher and active supporter of the visitation program. He appreciated the bus ministry and the help it provided him to get to church when he needed a ride. He was a faithful reader of God's Word and prayed for his family and the requests on his prayer lists daily.
His last advice that he gave was "Make sure you know Christ as your Savior, I want us to be together in Heaven." He is loved, and he will be missed. He is enjoying Heaven with his Savior.
He is survived by his three children, Brent (Laura) Bradley, Omaha, Nebraska; Kirk Bradley, Farmington Hills, Michigan; Regina (Kevin) Holland, Pound, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren, Daniel Bradley, Colorado; Peter (Grace) Bradley, Colorado; Sarah (Ben) Stuart, Nebraska; Mahlon Holland, Michigan; Hannah Holland, Wisconsin; Nathan (Grace) Bradley, Michigan; Joel Bradley, Michigan; Naomi Holland, Wisconsin; Lydia Holland, Wisconsin, four great grandchildren, Haivyn Bradley, Greyson Bradley, Hudson Stuart, Harper Stuart; brother-in-law: Bill Boggs, New York, sister-in-law Barb Speer, Michigan; along with several nieces and nephews.
