Malachi F. Anderson, 93, died June 18, 2025 at the Aroostook House of Comfort following a brief illness. He was born in Woodland, November 2, 1931 the son of the late Marvin and Dolly (Brown) Anderson. He was a graduate of Caribou High School and on July 15, 1955 he married Sharill Conroy of Perham, ME. He served in the United States Army during Korea and was a member of the Perkins Plourde Post 136 American Legion, Stockholm.
Malachi was a well-known area businessman in the Woodland area where he owned and operated Malachi Anderson Excavation. He served in the Maine House of Representatives representing District 147, serving on numerous legislative committees. Malachi was a longtime member and past Master of Washburn Lodge #193 A.F.&A.M., then affiliated with Fort Kent Lodge #209, and was an honorary member of Caribou Lodge #170. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, York Rite, Commandry, and Anah Temple Shrine.
Malachi loved riding his motorcycle with his wife and was a member of the United Bikers of Maine. He was also a member of the Caribou snowmobile club.
He is survived by his children, Debra C. Parks Larrivee and husband Jon of New Gloucester, Karen J. Cyr and husband Donald of Freeport, Jennifer J. Anderson and husband Lennie Clark of Arizona, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brothers, Thomas Anderson of Woodland, and Bruce Anderson of Littleton, sisters, Bessie Ferrante of Kingston, NH, Lu Gagnon and Leta Pelletier both of Caribou, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Anderson was predeceased by his wife Sharill on November 3, 2023.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 12 Noon until time of services which will begin at 1PM with a Masonic Memorial Service. Private interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Anderson may do so through the Aroostook House of Comfort, 18 Green Hill Drive P.O.
