Malcolm H. Connor, Jr., born on October 13, 1948, in Columbus, Georgia, passed away on September 30, 2025, at the age of 76.

Malcolm worked hard throughout his life and built a long career at Georgia Power, where he dedicated 31 years of service before retiring as a Service Supervisor. Prior to that, he worked as a welder and served in the Army National Guard for 6 years.

Outside of work, Malcolm was a man of many interests and remarkable skill. A true hobbyist at heart, he didn't just take up pastimes - he mastered them. Over the years, he became an accomplished ham radio operator, wood turner and carver, painter, jewelry maker, stained glass artist, and hydroponics enthusiast. He also excelled at pool, bowling, target shooting, horseshoe throwing, flying remote control airplanes, and biking. Whatever he pursued, he did so with focus, dedication, and a craftsman's touch. He passed his love of artistic creativity to his children, a gift that will carry on through them.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Marie Connor, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage filled with love and adventure; his daughter, Amy (Rodney) Connor; his son, Connor (Debra) Janes; his sister, Betty Faye Shelton; and his nephews, Mark (Jennifer) Shelton and Jason (Kimbra) Shelton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm H. Connor, Sr. and Estelle Connor.

He will be missed by all who knew him - and will be remembered, among many things, for being proud that he never once ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

A private service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Middle GA Meals on Wheels at https://www.mowmidga.org.
