Nancy Lisenby Borders, 78, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Brightmoor
Hospice in Macon. Services will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron, with visitation beginning at 5:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM. The Rev. Dr. John Beck will officiate.
Born in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Clarence and Edith Lisenby, Nancy worked
as a legal secretary with the Baker-Donelson Law Firm. She was a devoted wife, loving
mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of Powersville United
Methodist Church, Her favorite pastimes were reading, talking to and spending time with
her family, and offering her advice.
Survivors include her sons, Zachary Borders (Nikki Ayers), Philip Borders (Jill), and
Mark Borders (Darlena); grandsons, Timothy Borders (Ashley), Zachary Borders, Caleb
Ingram (Kyrsten), Jeremy Borders (Leslie), Jonathan Borders (Halie), and Donovan
Borders (Meagan); several great grandchildren; sister, Gloria Moore; brother, Tony
Lisenby (Reba);and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members and
friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marshall Anthony Borders,
her son, Sean Anthony Chambless, brothers, Jimmy Lisenby and Mickey Lisenby,
mother in law, Christine Borders, and daughter in law, Tammy Borders.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of Nancy to St. Jude’s Children's
Research Hospital (stjude.org). Rooks Funeral Home in Byron is in charge of
arrangements.
