Malda Jean Spencer, affectionately known as Jean, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, in Monroe, Michigan, at the age of 93. Born on December 3, 1931, in Logan, West Virginia, Jean lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.

Malda (Jean) retired from a fulfilling career in retail. She was involved with her church, where she found joy in cooking for church functions. She also cherished her time playing bingo with her friends at Fountain View.

Malda (Jean) was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Reva and Bill, her stepmother Ruby, three brothers Ronnie Lee, Charles Edward, and Lonzo David, one sister Iva Lee, and sons-in-law Lace and Jim. Her memory will be lovingly carried on by her four children: Gail Dingess, Dee Franks, Garry (Veronica Phillips) Spencer, and Ginger (Randy) Nelson. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Malda (Jean)'s life at a visitation on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home with a service at 3:00 PM. Interment at Michigan Memorial Park to follow.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Malda (Jean)'s memory, may make a contribution to the activity center at Fountain View of Monroe. Please click on the button to the left to make a donation.
Malda (Jean)'s legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be remembered fondly and missed deeply.
