It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Malik Rashad-Jamaal Williams, 25, who departed this life on August 8, 2025.
Born on March 21, 2000 in Sandusky, Malik's compassionate spirit and kind heart touched everyone he encountered. Malik's educational journey began at Rowland Elementary and continued through Greenview Elementary, Memorial Junior High School, and Brush High School, where he graduated in 2018 with a 2-year Early Childhood Education Degree. He then spent two impactful years at Cleveland State University. His love for children was evident in his career choices; Malik dedicated himself to working at various Early Childhood Centers and served as a Summer Camp Counselor. He also fostered wonderful relationships as a part-time nanny, a role that brought him immense joy.
Driven by his caring and nurturing nature, Malik pursued a path in healthcare, becoming a Nursing Assistant and making plans to attend Nursing school this fall. He was a constant and unwavering presence in his family's lives, known affectionately as the "protector and guardian of his siblings". Malik's supportive and compassionate nature extended beyond his immediate family, allowing him to cultivate deep and meaningful relationships with friends and loved ones alike. He possessed a wisdom beyond his years, truly embodying the spirit of an "old soul". Malik found enjoyment in reading, cherishing time spent with loved ones, and exploring the world of anime.
Malik will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his mother, Erin Williams; father, Troy Bryant, III; sisters, Brooklyn Bryant and Alanda Bryant; and brother, Brenden Bryant. He is also survived by his grandparents, Stephanie Woods (Anthony) and Daniel Walk; uncles, Ryan Williams, Dante Walk, and Anthony Woods, Jr.; aunts, Danielle Shumate, Amber Aaron, and Albany Breckenridge (Kevin); and nephews, Kash Laster-Hall and Damien Rodgers. And a host of bonus aunts and uncle; great-aunts and great-uncles; cousins; and other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Horace and Betty Walk; great-grandfather, George Williams; grandmother, Patricia Bryant; and first cousin, Donielle L. Shumate.
Malik's memory will forever be cherished, and he will never be forgotten.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 21 from 10-11 am at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky. Condolences may be shared online at toftfuneralhome.com.
