POLKTON - Mandy Natee Byrd was born on June 18, 1979, to the Late Bernard Byrd and Barbara Tillman. She entered rest on Thursday, Aug 3, 2023, in her home in Charlotte, NC.
Mandy accepted Christ at an early age at Gatewood Station AME Zion Church. Mandy graduated from Anson Senior High School in 1997
She’s preceded in death by her father Bernard Byrd, her son Kelvin Kentrell Leak, one uncle James Albert Gaddy, one Aunt Diane Gaddy, and Polly Burns whom she viewed as a second mother.
Mandy leaves her cherished memories to her mother Barbara Tillman (Jasper) of Polkton, NC; 2 Children one daughter Madison S. Leak (Juwan) of Wadesboro, NC, and one son Travis L. Pickett of Charlotte, NC. 3 grandchildren, Jaiden Sturdivant, Carter Pickett, and Jhania Sturdivant. 3 sisters Crystal Byrd of Charlotte NC, Tiffany Spencer, and Tameka Rorie both of Lilesville, NC. 1 brother Dexter Lilly of Charlotte, NC. Two aunts, Barbara Jean Williams and Willie Mae Douglas of Wadesboro NC, and three uncles, Gary Gaddy (Cathy) and Robert Gaddy of Wadesboro, NC, and Danny Gaddy (Amanda). She also leaves her cherished memories to Michael Tillman who helped raise her.
A host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 12, 2023 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Gatewood Station AME Zion Church Cemetery.
The viewing and visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
The family is gathering at the home of her mother, Barbara Ann Tillman in Polkton.
