Deacon Manie Curtis ASH

Deacon Manie Curtis Ash, 61, of Southfield, MI departed this life Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:25 a.m. at Oak Point Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center (Detroit, MI), following complications from an extended illness.

He was born October 29, 1964 in Warren, OH, the son of George and Ollie Mae Wilson Ash, residing in the area for 32 years, coming from Warren, OH.

Deacon Manie was employed with Manie's Car Service for 25 years as the Owner/Operator, before retiring in 2022. He also worked as a Nurse's Assistant for Health Solutions Home Healthcare. He was a 1984 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School, where he was a standout football player.

He was a member of the Faith Restoration Ministries, where he was a Deacon, served on the Transportation Ministry and enjoyed music, movies, shopping and sports.

He leaves to mourn one son, Raphael Mercer-Ash of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Ms. Kennedy Overstreet-Ash of Detroit, MI; two brothers, Alonzo Ball of Warren, OH and Michael Ash of Southfield, MI; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy J. Redd of Howland, OH and Ms. Jackie Ball-Lowery of Niles, OH, two grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jerry Ball, Darnell Ball and James "Bubble" Ball and one sister, Mrs. Barbara Daniels.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Restoration Christian Fellowship Church, with Calling Hours from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home.
