Sheldon Ash Obituary

Sheldon was born in Reading, on October 17, 1953, a son of the late Naomi (Boyer) and Albert R. Ash.
He was the husband of Penny (Nichols) Ash.
Sheldon attended Calvary Lutheran Church, Reading. He worked as a finisher at DeCarlo Custom Cabinetry, for 25 years. Sheldon was a member of Hampden Fire Company, a former member and council president, at the former Peace Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife: Sheldon is survived by
two daughters, Michelle L., wife of Jeffrey R. Gosch and Leslie A., wife of Jason L. Taylor.
He is also survived by 3 granddaughters: Ella, Zoey and LiIlian and a grandson: Lukas; and his Cat-Nicole.
Sheldon was predeceased by his brother Albert Allen Ash, Sr.
Sheldon loved all animals large and small; enjoyed fishing, especially with his dad and buddies; and the many camping trips with family and friends. He has always loved music and enjoyed attending many concerts. He never gave up on the Philadelphia Eagles, and always rooted for the Flyers, Royals, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Reading Fightin Phils. He was always so happy to be cheering on his grandchildren in everything they participated in. He took immense pride in his work as a cabinetry and furniture finisher and was extremely talented and skilled. He was most proud of his loving marriage of 51 years to Penny, the beautiful life they created together, his daughters, and grandchildren who brought him so much joy.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 1st at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1009 Elizabeth Ave, Reading, PA 19605.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Love Inc., of Greater Hershey, 245 East Derry Rd., Hershey, PA 17033 and the Humane Society of Berks,1801 North 11th St., Reading, PA 19604.

Sheldon was a good man. He loved Penny and his girls very much. We sure had a lot of good times going to NRPS and Grateful Dead shows when we were young. I loved knowing Sheldon and I know heaven was waiting for him.
