Manning Robert Esmay

Manning Robert Esmay, at the age of 19 years old, passed away on the morning of August 4th, 2023. Manning was born in Murray, UT on January 9, 2004, to Gary Dean Esmay and Pamela Lynn Esmay. With a family of 7 children, Manning was yet another blessing to our child filled home, number 8 and the youngest.
As a young boy Manning was quite active. He always had unending energy, especially for play. It didn't matter what it was, he just wanted to play. His father put him in sports-he played football for a handful of years and also participated in wrestling. He was a good wrestler, so good in fact that he was not afraid to challenge any one of his siblings, even his Mom and Dad. He loved to rough house with his bigger and stronger siblings. For a young rambunctious boy, once he expelled that endless energy, sleeping was an exciting event, just as everything else; he welcomed the thrill of jumping into his bed. Manning and his dad would often lie in bed at night and sing along to a John Denver tune until one of the two drifted off.
Manning never changed how he felt about his older siblings. When most were old enough to be on their own, he would call and check in. He wanted to know when they were planning to hangout. His excited and welcoming spirit was simply contagious and a joy to be around.
Later in Manning's life he enjoyed his work and playing video games when time permitted. Sometimes the family would wonder where he went. Often, he was in another room with the lights off playing on his VR headset. He was never selfish and was always happy to have anyone join in his fun. Manning worked long hours at Valvoline and had goals of attending Salt Lake Community College in pursuit of his Associate's Degree.
Manning was preceded in death by his Grandpa Robert Esmay, Grandpa Richard Bickerton and Grandma June Bickerton.
He is survived by his parents: Gary and Pam Esmay and his brothers and sisters; Ashley Moli (Alo), Brandon Watson (Darcy), Paige Clark (Travis), Parker Esmay (Tanya), Jax Esmay, Hunter Esmay (Nicole) and Cannon Esmay. His beloved Grandma Nadine Esmay, many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Manning was a delight to be around. His company will be deeply missed. Until we meet again, please visit us in our hearts and dreams! We love you Manning.
