Manuel Garcia, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on July 6, 1942, in Bishop, Texas, Manuel lived a life grounded in family, love, and community. With a career dedicated to building and remodeling homes, he not only created physical structures but also nurtured relationships that would last a lifetime.

Manuel was a very private individual, yet his humility and warm sense of humor made him approachable to all who met him. He embodied the spirit of support and kindness, always willing to lend a helping hand or an ear for those in need. His family was his greatest joy; he adored his wife, Silvia Garcia, whom he cherished for 56 wonderful years. Their bond was profound, and they were known for their inseparable relationship, navigating life together with love and laughter.

Manuel was not only a devoted family man but also enjoyed hobbies that brought him peace and fulfillment. His passion for cooking and gardening was well-known among family and friends. With a green thumb, he cultivated a variety of vegetables, sharing the fruits of his labor with those he loved.

He is survived by his loving wife, Silvia; his daughters, Janell (Jesse) Garcia-De La Paz and Ashley (Freddie) Garcia-Gonzalez; sons, Michael (Kristina) Garcia, Wayne M. Garcia, and Randy Garcia; brother’s, Ruben (Esmeralda) Garcia, Noe (Sandra) Garcia, and Ernie Garcia; and sister’s, Mrs. Jackie (Robert) Mendez, Delma Garcia, Olga Garcia, and Debbie (George) Moreno. His legacy also continues through his 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly for his nurturing spirit and countless family gatherings filled with laughter.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Glenda Garcia, his parents, Manuel H. Garcia and Maria Garcia, and his siblings Israel Garcia, Irma G. Garcia, Idolina “Dolly” Garcia, and Hilda G. Nunez. Their memories will forever be held close in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

A visitation will be held in his honor on February 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas, followed by a Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be celebrated in his memory on February 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Bishop, Texas, with interment at St. James Cemetery after.

Manuel Garcia, Jr. will be remembered not just for his skills as a builder and gardener, but for his unwavering support, heartfelt love for his family, and his humor that could brighten the darkest of days. His spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
