Roberto R. Gutierrez

Roberto R. Gutierrez, 88, of Bishop, Texas, passed away on February 24, 2026, in his hometown.

He was born on June 8, 1937, in Bishop to Jose Maria and Juana Gutierrez. A dedicated public servant, Roberto retired as a constable with Nueces County Precinct 3. He was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church, where he remained active throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nelda S. Gutierrez; his brothers, Jose Francisco and Juan; and his sisters, Estella and Virginia.

Roberto is survived by his three daughters: Dariela (Rodolfo) Gaona of Fort Worth, Texas, Eunice (Hugh) Jones of Houston, Texas, and Lourdes (Armando) Olvera of Bishop. He is also survived by seven grandchildren-Adrian, Ariana, Alicia, Johnny, Joel, Armando Javiel, and Emily-and eight great-grandchildren.

He leaves behind three brothers, Gilberto Gutierrez, Manuel Gutierrez, Julian Gutierrez; one sister, Margarita Saldana; his extended immediate family, Nemus Avalos, Irene Bowie, Maria Zamora, and Jesus Gutierrez; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 27, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, officiated by Father Sebastian. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Roberto will be remembered for his dedication to his community, his strong work ethic, and his unwavering love for his family. His legacy of service, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
