In 1960 he was offered a job from his cousin, Don Arcadio Garza helping run the business for Alamo Bottling Works/Hippo Size Soda Waters and moved his family to San Antonio. He worked there for 10 years. Beginning in 1970, he worked for Mexicana Airlines. He was promoted to assistant airport manager and then retired in 1993. While growing up in Sabinas he enjoyed the quiet simple life. He was an altar boy, and helped at the church. He played soccer and basketball and was an avid swimmer and diver. He loved dancing and he and Ethelvina won several dance contests. He enjoyed caring for his home and his yard and BBQ's with his family with his family. He was interested in aviation and the airline industry; hence he worked for American Airlines and Mexicana Airlines for almost 30 years. While working with American Airlines and Mexicana Airlines he traveled throughout the United States and Mexico, always with his family. In later years he and Ethelvina also enjoyed frequent trips to Las Vegas. He was a great husband, loving father, awesome grandfather, blessed great grandfather. He was blessed to have a beautiful loving wife and daughters, a devoted son, and loving and supportive sons and daughter-in-law, and many caring grandchildren and great grandchildren. We were all blessed to have him here with us. Now he is with Jesus in Heaven where there is no suffering, no worries, just peace and love. We will see you again in Heaven when the Lord calls us home. Our sincere condolences to the entire Ibarra family. We were blessed to have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ibarra during his visits to Edinburg. He was truly loved and admired by his family and was a fine example to all of us. He raised a beautiful and exemplary woman in my dear friend, Marisa, as well as a great role model to our compadre Ed. He will truly be missed and his legacy will live on forever in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
