Manuel J. Kitano

On March 6, 2026, Manuel J Kitano, age 94, passed away at Woodbury Mews. Born and raised in Freeland, PA to John and Elizabeth (nee Kish), Manuel moved to South Philadelphia as a teenager where he lived for 64 years at 9th & Shunk Street until moving to Heritage Retirement Community in Deptford NJ in 2020. A Korean War veteran, Manuel worked for most of his adult life at Tastykake on Hunting Park Avenue. After retirement, he then enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the Oceanview Campground where he worked predominately as a tram driver for 16 summers.

Manuel is the beloved husband of Concetta "Connie" (nee Venuto). He is the loving father of John (Betty Ann) and the late, Domenick "Donnie". He is the devoted grandfather of Tiffany (John) Pooler, John (Brittany) Kitano and Kristina (Dan) Kitano and great grandfather of Johnny, Tommy, Claire, JD and Mattie. He is also survived by his sister, Claudina "Kitty" Pettorossi as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, March 14th from 10:00 – 11:45 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 4th Avenue and Kings Highway, Haddon Heights where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM (Noon). Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org)
