Manuel Lugo, (affectionately known as, Manny) named after is grandfather, passed away surrounded by the love of his four children on the morning of July 4th, 2023 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.
A former resident of Corona, Queens, New York, Mr. Lugo was born on August 18th, 1956, to Herman and Hilda S. Lugo. Up until his late teenage years, the Lugo family decided to move to Arlington, Massachusetts where they established a new home. Everyone who knew Manuel Lugo could not be mistaken that he was a family man, hard worker and had a strong passion to enjoy life.
He loved to travel, rock music, to fix up older cars & electronics, host family events, experience nature and philosophize on life. As a long time resident of Arlington, Mr. Lugo hosted family gatherings, & served his community with his moving company Dan's Vans.
In 1989, he married Elena Arrendol Lugo, who is originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Elena, a nurturer, lover, educator, and dancer, was the love of his life, and was clearly displayed in his final days.
Manny is survived by his wife and four children: Jessica Arrendol Kiely and her husband, Stephen Kiely; Francisco Lugo, Alejandro Lugo & Lorenzo Lugo; and his four adoring grandchildren Dahlia, Xavier, Alejandra and Valentina. Manny is also survived by his loving siblings Ramón (Ray) Lugo, Eduardo (Eddie) Lugo, Maxi Lugo, Francisco (Frank) Lugo, and Isabel (Liz) Lugo. He was so deeply loved by so many, and he will never be forgotten.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday July 8th from 12:00-1:00 pm at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, Arlington, MA 02474.
A Graveside burial service will follow from 1:00-1:45 pm at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 70 Medford Street, Arlington, MA 02474.
A celebration of life reception will be held from 2:00-6:00 pm at the Whittemore Robbins House located at: 670R Massachusetts Ave, Arlington MA, 02476.
