Manuel "Manolo" Morales, a beloved musician and cherished member of the Pecos community, peacefully departed this world on August 25, 2025, at the age of 72, in his hometown of Pecos, Texas.
Born on July 16, 1953, in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico, Manuel held a profound love for music that inspired him throughout his life, originating from his childhood dreams.
From a young age, the melodies that danced in his heart fueled aspirations of becoming a musician. Following his relocation to Pecos, Manuel dedicated himself to various endeavors, working diligently in the railroads and with GSI during seismographic work, always showcasing his admirable work ethic. Yet, amidst the demands of his daily life, he relentlessly pursued his passion for music in every moment he could find. His dreams flourished when he began performing at The Green Lantern, culminating in the formation of the esteemed group Los Rieleros del Norte, which he proudly led for an impressive 46 years. In the later chapters of his life, he founded El Primo Manolo y Sus Rieleros, continuing to share his remarkable talent and warmth with an adoring audience.
Manuel leaves behind a legacy that resonates deeply within the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved children, Benjamin Montano, and his wife, Lorina Barragan;Corina Olivas, and her spouse, Fabian Olivas;Georgina Morales, Manuel Morales III, Luis Medina, Yael Morales, and Yahir Morales. Brothers & Sister, Jesus M. Morales, Norma Estrello, Riquilda Sanchez. 12 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren
He is welcomed into eternal rest by his father, Manuel Morales; mother, Antonia Delgado Garcia; and sisters Genoveva Morales, Brijida Morales, Gloria Gonzales, and Isabel Morales, whose memories will forever be intertwined with his.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance during the visitation on August 27, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM at Pecos Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held that evening at 7:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on August 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church, located at 620 E 4th St, Pecos, TX 79772.
Burial will follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chico Montano, Benjamin Montano Jr, Julian Barragan, Carlos M. Veloz, Josiah E. Macias, Karla L. Veloz, Karina Morales, Fabian Olivas Jr
Manuel "Manolo" Morales will be eternally remembered not only for his extraordinary musical gifts but also for the joy and passion he imparted to those around him. His spirit and the vibrancy of his music will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness and talent.

Manuel "Manolo" Morales, un querido músico y apreciado miembro de la comunidad de Pecos, falleció pacíficamente el 25 de agosto de 2025, a la edad de 72 años, en su ciudad natal de Pecos, Texas.
Nacido el 16 de julio de 1953 en Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, México, Manuel sentía un profundo amor por la música que le inspiró a lo largo de su vida y que tenía su origen en los sueños de su infancia.
Desde muy joven, las melodías que bailaban en su corazón alimentaron sus aspiraciones de convertirse en músico. Tras su traslado a Pecos, Manuel se dedicó a diversas actividades, trabajando diligentemente en los ferrocarriles y con GSI en trabajos sismográficos, siempre mostrando su admirable ética de trabajo. Manuel deja un legado que resuena profundamente en los corazones de su familia y amigos. Morales, Norma Estrello, Riquilda Sánchez. 12 nietos y 6 bisnietos.
Le reciben en el descanso eterno su padre, Manuel Morales; su madre, Antonia Delgado García; y sus hermanas Genoveva Morales, Brujida Morales, Gloria Gonzales e Isabel Morales, cuyos recuerdos permanecerán para siempre entrelazados con los suyos.
Se invita a familiares y amigos a reunirse en su memoria durante el velatorio que tendrá lugar el 27 de agosto de 2025, de 10:30 a. m. a 10:30 p. m., en la funeraria Pecos Funeral Home. Esa misma tarde, a las 7:00 p. m., se rezará un rosario.
La misa fúnebre se celebrará el 28 de agosto de 2025 a las 10:00 a. m. en la iglesia católica Santa Rosa De Lima, situada en 620 E 4th St, Pecos, TX 79772.
A continuación, tendrá lugar el entierro en el cementerio Mount Evergreen.
