Manuel Ramirez Obituary
He was a lifelong resident of Pharr and a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam. Mr. Ramirez retired as a welding teacher from Edcouch-Elsa ISD.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Amelio and Remigia Ramirez; a brother, Reynaldo Ramirez; a sister, Rita Velma Ramirez.
Mr. Ramirez is survived by his wife of 55 years, Adalia G. Ramirez; three children, Ana Melissa (Max Blanco) Ramirez, Adriana Michelle Ramirez, Manuel (Norma) Ramirez Jr.; five grandchildren, Manuel "Manny" Ramirez III, Alejandro Rene Martinez, Aaron Jacob Martinez, Christian Isaac Ramirez, Angelica Marie Martinez; four siblings, Rosario (Abdiel) Cuevas, Amelio (Diana) Ramirez Jr., Gisel (Israel) Silva, Noe (Shirley) Rocha; and a sister in law, Leonor Ramirez.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 7473 of Elsa.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.

Who would've thought that seeing you and talking to you a couple of weeks ago at Valero would be the last time? Meme, nicer guys like you are hard to come by. You always had a smile; greeted friends so humbly! Thank you for remaining a friend after all these years. And, thank you for proudly serving our Nation when we needed troopers in Vietnam. We are very grateful, Meme. God will welcome you in Heaven..for you once went through Hell in Nam. R.I.P. my friend, I will never forget you.
