Manuela Lopez Hernandez passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 29th, 2024.
And she was processed in death by her lifelong husband Tomas Hernandez, and by many of her children, Tomas Hernandez, Jose Hernandez and wife Sarah Hernandez, Maria Montoya and Mike Hernandez. She outlived many of her children and grandchildren.
Surviving to cherish the memories of Manuela Hernandez. Sons, Gavino Hernandez and wife Loretta Hernandez, Jesse Hernandez, Louie Trujilo, Santos Hernandez, Rosalio Hernandez. Daughters, Rosa Hernandez, Ramona Campos, Teresa Barela and husband Barney Barela, Daughter in law Helen Hernandez. Her grandchildren that she raised Joseph Hernandez,
Maria Alicia Montoya, Lorenzo Ramos and Alicia Hernandez. Along with many other grandchildren great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and all who loved her.
Manuela was weeks away from her 100th birthday. She lived a long healthy life, Loved all her family greatly and being around her grandchildren. Her home and refrigerator was open to everyone. She loved to cook and feed her family, even on her death bed she cried and said if God could just give her back her legs so she could get up and cook us enchiladas. She was very humble and would help strangers on the street with money, food, and a place to stay. We all remember her for loving her plants, having a green thumb. She would have some kind of Remedio for any sickness we had. Manuela enjoyed watering more like flooding the yard! Her husband would say she was making a hole to china with water. I don't think she ever had a cheap water bill! Her yard was always muddy! And she was an animal lover, she always had birds, dogs and cats. Manuela loved music and singing, we have so many memories of her and husband singing. They made an impression and a legacy of music on the family that carried on though her sons that started their own band of brothers. Her blessing will be greatly missed anytime we left she would put her hand on our foreheads and do the sign of the cross and pray and ask God to bless us and that his angels would watch over us no matter where we went. Now she's one of the angels watching over us. And will be greatly missed by all her loved ones!
