María de Nevarez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Turlock Memorial Park & Funeral Home on Jan. 29, 2026.
María Natividad Nevarez de Nevarez, a woman of profound faith and unbreakable resilience, was called home to the Lord on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born on November 20, 1949, María-known affectionately as "Natty" to her closest friends-was a woman who found her greatest joy in the presence of her loved ones. She cherished every opportunity to gather her family together, creating a home filled with warmth and connection. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life-the quiet engine that powered her through hardships and the compass that guided her every decision.

Natty had a deep love for the simple beauties of life; she could often be found tending to her garden or filling the air with the sound of her singing. These passions reflected her spirited soul and her ability to nurture growth and harmony in the world around her.

A devoted mother and a cherished confidant, Natty's family will forever remember her persistent love, often signaled by the many daily phone calls she made to check on those she held dear. In her final days, she spoke with deep pride of the resilience she saw in her family, leaving behind a powerful legacy of strength and the courage to always move forward.

She is survived by her devoted husband of over 50 years, Samuel; and her children: her eldest daughter, Candelaria; her son, Juan Luis; her daughter, Luz Sandra; and her youngest, Silverio. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Francisco as well as 13 beautiful grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of family and friends who were touched by her vibrant spirit. She was the "rose bush" in the garden of her family-protective, beautiful, and deeply rooted. While she has been taken from the earth, her essence remains in every heart she touched.

A visitation will be held on January 30, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be held on January 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock, CA. Following the mass, María will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park.
