Maralyn Joyce Stark

Maralyn Joyce Stark, 98, died on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Greeley, Colorado, from complications caused by a fall. She was born in Cedar Buttes, South Dakota, the fourth of five children. Her parents were Earl and Marie (Cotton) Halligan. After graduating from Wiggins High School, Maralyn married the love of her life, Edward Stark, in 1946. Maralyn and Ed spent many years in the farming business in the Fort Morgan and Wiggins area.
Maralyn was a member of the Christ Congregational Church in Fort Morgan and an active participant in Home Extension Club and bridge clubs. She was an excellent cook, an accomplished seamstress and could find creative ways to fix anything that broke (a skill she learned growing up during the depression). She dedicated much of her life to helping her children and grandchildren grow into loving, independent and successful adults.
Maralyn is survived by three children: Sandra Vance of Greeley, Patricia Babcock (Glenn) of Eaton and Wayne Stark (Marcy) of Wiggins; daughter-in-law Francie Stark of Blytheville, Arkansas; sister Margie Bristol of Fort Morgan, eleven grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Maralyn is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Stark; son, Michael Stark; granddaughter, Tara Vance; brothers, Delton and Claude Halligan; and sister, Elaine Shelton.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
